MASHH Mobile Air Shower wins Environmental, Health & Safety Award at 2013 Shale Insight

Fri, 02/14/2014 - 14:40 -- Donny Beaver

BELLWOOD, PA, October 10, 2013 — The Mobile Air Shower by HalenHardy (MASHH), which removes hazardous crystalline silica from workers clothes during industrial operations, won the inaugural Ben Franklin Shale Gas Innovation & Commercialization Center (SGICC) Environmental, Health and Safety Award at the Shale Insight Conference.

Respirable Crystalline Silica Will FInd the Holes in Engineering Controls

Fri, 02/14/2014 - 14:16 -- Donny Beaver

Major reasons that engineering controls alone are not enough to protect workers from respirable crystalline silica

  1. Respirable crystalline silica is nearly as light as air and has a very slow "settling rate"...it takes a long time to drift to the ground.
  2. Because of the low settling rate, respirable crystalline silica can't be completely contained and is impossible to eradicate

Part 8 – HalenHardy Discovers 11 More Sources of Respirable Silica in Hydraulic Fracturing

Fri, 02/14/2014 - 11:56 -- Donny Beaver

Part Seven in our series featured the July 2013 announcement by NIOSH about workers’ clothing being an eighth (8th) source of respirable silica in hydraulic fracturing. In addition, the HalenHardy team has identified 11 more areas of exposure before, during and after hydraulic fracturing including:
